The FORWARD PROMISE program helps young fathers of color find their voices and overcome trauma through written, spoken, or visual art. These fathers have faced many battles and hardships with housing, schools, jobs, and economic security. They have each joined this program to change their life’s trajectory to – HEAL – GROW – THRIVE – so that they can make a better life for themselves and their families. Many did not see art as a possibility, but decided to open up to tell their story, discover more options in life, and inspire others through their art. If you’re a young father of color (ages 16-24) interested in learning more about this program, contact Anthony Patterson at (317) 921-5940 or at
